Interactive checklist for all requirements when converting a van to a camper in the Netherlands.

The Tax Authority sets stricter dimension requirements than the RDW. Always measure after insulation.

Minimum standing height 170 cmTax

The living area must be at least 170 cm high, measured after insulation. Alternative: 130 cm + pop-up roof with 170 cm over min. 100 × 90 cm.

Minimum living area length 200 cmTax

The living area (behind the cab) must be at least 200 cm long.

Minimum width 90 cmTax

The living area must be at least 90 cm wide (Tax Authority requirement).
